Big Bear and Festival of Lights

Welcome to my blog! And welcome 2014!

How was everyone? How was your New Year? Wish everything went all well. :)

I was on a holiday in Big Bear Lake California with Matt, and after spending a day pretty much watching the ducks swim in the lake heheh! we came down to see the Festival of Lights (as what we exactly did on a holiday a year ago). It was fun seeing festivities. I miss Christmas. It just went by so fast.

Well, enjoy the pictures! :)

Jaspers Smokehouse - The best BBQ steakhouse evah! Thnx Yelp!

And here are the pictures I took in old town Riverside. They always do the Festival of Lights every Christmas holidays. There were lights everywhere, people caroling, loud music, antique shops, ice skating rink, and hmm hmm delicious donuts and hot choco!

(Don't you just love the snows falling in my blog? ~_^)

POTD: This Kiss

Disneyland "Sleeping Beauty Castle"last Valentines day | Walt Disney and Mickeymouse |
Fantasyland at Disneyland | Hiking trail at Peters Canyon | Silhoutte shot

Instagram photos I took recently and some months ago. All shot from Disneyland (me and my bf always visit every month ^^,) except the hiking trail from a canyon park close to his house in Orange County. We've been enjoying hiking since summer last year. It was fun. And I can't wait for summer again!

With my Queen friend haha! I did her make up (fierce cat -eye) and I like it!

Or you can dress up as a bee! (with my friend Ruby. I like her costume because it matches her name : Ru-bee xoxo)

Or maybe a military woman, or a queen, or a ninja!

Or a devil, or a prom queen, or a hula dancer, or a zombie, or a jack skellington, or a policewoman, or a knight, or a pirate, or a tiger, or a red riding hood, or a cat etc........

I had an early birthday celebration with my family and friends last 12th. We ate in my favorite Japanese restaurant called Sushi Zen. I made a blog post about this amazing restaurant. If it has a branch close to your place, it is worth checking, I promise. I felt like I had the whole restaurant for my party because everyone else (including Spiderman yep, he came to my party ahhah!) were all clapping and singing Happy birthday to me! Ofcourse I danced  (I'm not gonna go on any details how I danced ahha! *embarrassed). There were flickering dancing lights and I was dressed up with the green funky shades and a pink funny birthday hat. I got free mochis too! Ah! It was worth it. =)

Then we went cosmic bowling until midnight! =). Me and 2 of of my friends won in the raffle draws. We got lucky! It was a heck of a night to remember.

My nephews: Makaiel (left), and Matthew (right), with my brother in law Marvin. This was taken Sunday after mass. I worked the night before so I haven't had slept in the day but I tried to and been awake for like 26 hours just to spend Sunday with them =). We also ate in Goldilocks for lunch after that. It was a nice treat!

Then my special day came. It was the 15th and I had a date =). We stayed in a nice historical villa where we spent 2 days at Palm Springs. This photo was taken somewhere in downtown while we were walking. All the stores, restaurants, mall, spas, and gift shops are very convenient.

And since I still have my $10 gift certificate from Cheesecake Factory, I was so happy to use it for my birthday! =) I had my favorite strawberry cheesecake for free! Yey! This photo was taken from Rancho Mirage.

I had the best delicious breakfast ever! =D

We went to a couple of nice places too. I had my Epicuren facial treatment (which I haven't had for years now). People kept on saying how my face glows after that! Hahha. I think the lovely lady put like 20 layers of treatment on my skin! They treat me very well. And I never felt so much relaxed and rejuvenated. Guess yelp was right. Salon 199 is one of the best spa salon in town!

After that, I surprised my date on the famous Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. It is the world's largest rotating tramway which will take you on a 2 mile aerial trip on top of the mountain. Then we went to play (actually just him ahha!) on Morongo Casino and went strolling on the Cabazon outlet.

I had a blast on my birthday (s)? ahhahh! And I am glad I could share them with you. =)

Happy Halloween! =) Yes. He is a baby pumpkin.

POTD: Architectural Designs in Chicago

and because this bean is awesome!
Clock tower | Marina towers |  Willis tower |  Hershey's chocolate factory |  Multiple stop light, first time seeing stop lights like this hahha |  Millenium park |  overseeing the city from the Shed aquarium |  and...that's me staring at myself by the bean ahha! Sorry not my best pic but my brother tried his best lol. Pics taken in my canon, edited in iphoto.

Chicago is one of the best places I wanted to visit around the states. It is the home of amazing foods, famous people, rich culture, and of course the magnificence of their architectural designs found in buildings, monuments, statues, parks, everything..

I am easily fascinated by how tall and strong the buildings are. I am fortunate enough to be able to withstand my fear of heights when I joined a bunch of brave and enthusiastic tourists in the 103 th floor of Chicago's famous Willis Tower, formerly known as the Sears Tower, which is the 2nd tallest building in the world (including the antenna, according to Wiki). To be honest, I thought my knees would shake but it's the same excitement I feel everytime I ride coasters in Six Flags lol.

There's a lot more to say in this Photos of the Day post but I don't want to bore you from a long chit chat and what I've done in my whole trip so I just wanted to share them hoping they could put a smile on your face. =)

Movie Review Experience: The Cabin In the Woods

Now, to tell you the truth I ain't a movie critic myself (just feels like doing this hahah!) Me and melissa got 2 free movie premiere tickets my brother kindly gave to me. And it's a damn paper. We should've brought our whole family and friends with us because they didn't even scanned it on our entrance!

Anyways, I haven't been on a premier show before so I was excited to see what they have. We came in 35 minutes early and had to rush our dinner at Panera Bread before we lined in. The theater was crowded and busy. I was apprehensive we might not get a seat. Luckily, I spotted 2 perfect seats on a perfect spot (and because I kind of worked my charm through it hahha! kidding).

The theater was not that huge. People kept walking from sidewalk to sidewalk. The few rows on the back of our seats were the movie critics armed with papers and pens (I wonder what they'll gonna say bout the movie). And on up front were the people from Z90.3 (it's a radio station) who kind of sponsored the premiere show. They even gave us (just lis actually) a free pen after she Liked their facebook page. That's how they get people of course. I got my sticker and key chain from the young dude seating close to me (which in turn got a free Drake shirt after they threw a couple of them in the air).

The whole movie was all I can say, thrilling! At some points I glance back to see lis covering her face with her jacket! Hahah. Ever had that feeling like you kept shouting at the actor to "Run moron! A zombie is behind ya!" Well, that happened to me every time I watch horror movies. I like the feeling of being scared and excited.

I just hated the first part where they all betting money on which monsters will be awakened as if like a reality game show, which in fact it was. They're all being played at while the viewers enjoyed watching them all killed. Ugh poor people only wanted to have fun on a weekend. Quite obvious that the whore die first and the virgin always live last ei?

I thought the movie would be like boring and stuff because we all know at the end they all gonna die yadah-yadah. They ALL did, actually LOL (shhh I didn't told you that =p). And the scariest part is the last part where all the most horrifying nightmare monsters released from captive and killed every single one of those villains. Die bastards! Hahha! Funny how a white unicorn was included.

There ya go. A tid bits of my movie experience. I can't vouch if the movie is a 5-stars but you should go watch it yourself. See how it goes and let me know =)

The movie is released on the 13th of April.

Tag: What's In My Bag?

Inside my makeup kit

Inside my bag

Inside my bag's pocket

Inside my wallet (no cash at the moment lol)

I literally just chunk in whatever items I have in my bag coz that's the excitement of the 'what's in my bag' tag =). I'm quite a messy person specially when it comes to my bag (good thing I threw all my junk receipts and candy wrappers the day ago). I always bring my digital camera with me. You never know when you gonna need it =). I also have my word search puzzle to keep me out from boredom. Yes, I carry hair spray with me (my fringe/bangs just won't sit right haha!). Most of my items are cosmetics stuff (for touch-ups after a long heavy day). When I'm out for a travel, I carry a separate travel makeup kit with me. I also needed to have my eye prescriptions. And Tylenol for headache and monthly necessities ofcourse. Who don't have Tylenols in their bag? =)

These are my items for daily travel necessities. What's yours? =)
